Types of Phenolex

CP-103 Canvas Phenolic Sheets - Grade C

Medium Weave cotton cloth and phenolic resin. Meets NEMA, ASTM and LP-509 Grade C, MIL-P-15035 Type FBM and MIL-I-24768/16.

  • Excellent machinability
  • Stronger than paperbase laminates like PP-116
  • Very good Impact Strength

Typical Uses: Gears, Pile Driver pads, Pulleys, Bushings, Shuttles for Textile Mills, Wear Blocks, Compressor Vanes, Gaskets, Terminal Blocks.

Stocked from .031" to 6.000" thick, in 48" x 48" and 48" x 96" sheets.

LP-112 Linen Phenolic Sheets - Grade L

Very fine weave cotton cloth and phenolic resin. Meets NEMA, ASTM and LP-509 Grade L, MIL-P-15035 Types FBM and FBI and MIL-I-24768/15 and /16.

  • Better Fine machinability than CP-103; slightly lower mechanical strength.
  • Somewhat better Electrical resistance than CP-103

Typical Uses: Same as CP-103, where finer machining is necessary.

Stocked in .015" in 24" x 48" sheets, and from .031" to 2.000" thick in 48" x 48" sheets.

LP-114 Linen Electrical Phenolic Sheets - Grade LE

Very fine weave cotton cloth and phenolic resin. Meets NEMA, ASTM and LP-509 Grades L and LE, MIL-P-15035 Types FBI and FBE and MIL-I-24768/13 and /15.

  • Better Fine machinability than CP-103; slightly lower mechanical strength.
  • Much better Electrical resistance than CP-103

Typical Uses: Same as CP-103, where finer machining is necessary.

Stocked from .031" to 1.000" thick in 48" x 48" sheets.

PP-116 Paperbase Phenolic Sheets - Grade XX

Kraft Paper and Phenolic resin. Inexpensive, yet has good physical and electrical properties. Meets NEMA, ASTM and LP-509 Grade XX, and MIL-P-3115 Type PBG and MIL-I-24768/11.

  • Inexpensive
  • Excellent Punching qualities
  • Very good Electrical Resistance
  • Moderate Physical Strength

Typical Uses: Terminal Boards, Panels, Insulating Washers, Circuit Breaker Covers, and various types of spacers.

Stocked from .031" to 1.000", in 48" x 48" sheets.

SG-230 Glass Silicone Sheets - Grade G-7

Medium weave glass cloth and silicone resin. Highest temperature performance of any plastic, with good physical and electrical strength. Meets NEMA and ASTM G-7, MIL-P-997 Type GSG and MIL-I-24768/17.

  • Very high temperature resistance (over 385° F)
  • Machinable

Typical Uses: Slot wedges, Class H Transformer Parts, Insulators requiring high heat resistance and flame resistance.

Stocked from .015" to 1.000" in 40" x 48" sheets.

EG-403 Glass Epoxy Sheets - Grade G-10/FR-4

Glass cloth and epoxy resin. Meets NEMA and ASTM G-10 and FR-4, and MIL-I-24768/27.

  • Excellent physical and electrical properties, even in high humidity environments.

Typical Uses: Terminal Boards, Mechanical Frame Insulators, Structural Members, Line Switch Actuators.

Stocked from .010" to .500", in 40" x 48" sheets.

EG-413 Glass Epoxy Sheets - Grade G-11

Glass cloth and epoxy resin. Meets NEMA and ASTM G-11.

  • Higher Flexural strength than EG-403
  • More heat resistant than EG-403

Typical Uses: Similar to EG-403. High Voltage Television Insulation.
